Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Challenge a fox

Jane, What you stated is the truth!  When we had a fox problem my horses helped guard my chickens and we trapped them, and did away with them.  There got to be so many that they started getting mange and looked like horrid creatures.  I am so glad that our fox population is way down.  I think our eagles and huge hawk population are keeping the kits down.

Anna & the challenging fox.
Well I am amazaed at what I have just read.
Here in the UK we get foxes & they are MEAN! They kill for fun! I guess they get in a frenzy. They will kill all the chickens they can get to (sometimes just injuring them) They take 1 out of all the dead for their family.
You found it snuggled in your coop after it had killed your dear defensless chooks & you just let it go?
I would have locked it in there Gone & got a shovel & back to beat him to his death! Do you not realise you just sent him a message, this is where you are welcome if you get hungry mate?
I like the look of foxes they do look cute.
But they certainly would never be made to feel welcome at my chicken coops. You've watched too many disney movies! If you don't toughen up your girls will never survive & I pity them! ;( Jane & co
