If they are cock a doddle doing, then you know you have cockerels. Usually they start out sounding like squeaky hinges, then work into a full fledged crow. The pullets will sing and it's different from a crow. 8 weeks is young for crowing. I have had a few crow young, but 8 weeks is very young. Must be lots of testosterone in the 8 wk old chicks.

Two of my hens, ameracaunas, have started to make crowing sounds!
I am so upset that I might have to give them back to the farm where I got them, because OF COURSE one of them is just the sweetest cuddliest of them all.
I know it's possible for a rooster to be sweet, right? And also possible for a hen to crow??
They are only about 2 months old, so I am not panicking yet. The neighbors will have to bring the law first, if it comes to that! they don't do it often, and not very loud...thoughts??
