Re: [CHICKENS-101] County fair results

Thanks Cathryn,
I wasn't horribly wild about the judge, he didn't judge by breed in the large fowl class but by more of a production stand point. Kind of annoying when my sumatras and other peoples exotics and leghorns are in that class and he wanted them broad and meaty. We did ok though. He did say that the one silkie we took was in great shape and that it was an accomplishment in the weather we've been having. So that made us feel good. Now we just have to locate some black silkies that are black not chocolate and some more self blues to go with the one she has.
Marla

Congratulations to both of you! She did an excellent job with wins; it's a lot of work conditioning and planning ahead.  It's better to be bit by the show bug than the peer pressure bug and I am so happy that your dd is taking her poultry projects serious!!!  Good for her that she is interested in silkies!!! :)  :) :)
