Maybe the squirrel was in their feed dish and they aren't going to stand for it?

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Chickens chasing squirrels!
We have had chickens for many many years and Ed and I both were brought up on farms,so to see what we saw today was really funny and strange!
We had introduced 3 new Buffs to our flock of 4 year old ladies a few months ago.The "youngsters" are going on 6 months old. Today all 3 discover squirrels.
They were chasing one poor thing all around the yard! Then when it ran up a tree they stood under it looking up, making all sorts of clucking and brawking sounds. The older ladies never pay attention to the squirrels or the cats. In fact, the young ones don't pay any attention to our cats,either.So why they are chasing the squirrels is a mystery. Have an of your hens taken up squirrel chasing as a sport?
