[CHICKENS-101] Serama and chicks

This (%&%^*&) little black Serama is driving me nuts. She hatched 2 eggs yesterday morning and last night I brought her, the chicks and the eggs and nest in the potting soil bag into the house. This afternoon another black chick hatched. So now I have 3 black chicks and 3 remaining eggs. I haven't heard the first "peep" or any sound from the eggs. She is such a protective mom that when I open the door to the spare room where they are, she starts screaming! I guess we will see what happens next. I am afraid to take the eggs away yet!

Wishing everybody a happy 4th. Remember that we live in the greatest country in this world. If you don't agree just do a little living in another country! I will be in downtown Atlanta running in the Peachtree Road Race. There are 65,000 runners! I think it is the largest 10k in the world. My groups starts at 8:20am and I am so hoping it will still be a little cool. Been 95-100 degrees here for weeks.
