Before we moved to the farm, we lived in a far north suburb of Chicago along a river backing up to 14 acres of woods and wetlands. We had our share of fox, coyote, deer, possum, raccoons etc..
One night I heard a frantic YIP sound and went out to see a fox was harrassing my cat..
Since we were in town and couldnt fire off a gun, hubby got the bb Gun and shot it in the butt ( a low powered one that only stung him) he bolted, but literally, came right back around the corner to get the cat.
Now the cat, didnt know we had him protected, refused to move. That fox came back 4 more times before deciding getting stung by the bb wasnt worth it and ran away.. once safely away the cat bolted for the house.
This happened another time but the fox only needed one spanking before leaving.. not sure if it was the same one or not!
