[CHICKENS-101] Speaking of backyard chickens...

My husband and I are almost ready to start building and while I COMPLETELY understand that every areas zoning laws are different, i was wondering what others have done in our situation.

We are on unincorporated rural township land that is completely surrounded with farmland, sheep. The only zoning regs I could find stated that "ANY" building must have a permit and "only buildings exceeding 500 sq feet and for human occupation"

well .. ours is only planning to be 8x8 and of course no human occupation.
Oh and many years ago this land ( by same owner family as today) had a medium sized chicken coop.. about 10x40. The rest of the area has NOT been built up since then so I have no reason to beleive (by naked eye at least) that the zoning has changed.

I called the county land-use guy and am waiting for a return call ...
Whats typical reaction .. I am worried that we will hit a red tape wall.. my husband wanted to just build it as its unlikely it will ever be seen.. but I am a worry-wort and wanted to ask before spending the money on building the coop... etc...

Oh..we are on about 2 acres with a small house, 2 car garage and small barn... plenty of room to have a coop far off the road and away from neighbors at least 2-3 city blocks away
