[CHICKENS-101] Re: keeping Chickens with Ducks

I have 2- 1 1/2 yr old Muschovy ducks (Drake & Hen) once they were big enough to handle themselves (at the time I started with 10 ducklings) I put them in with the chickens; attrition & sales of excess Drakes have left me with this pair; as young ducklings they gave as good as they took among the chickens; the chickens were older; but the numbers of the adolescent ducks equaled the field among them; Ducks are messy; but they have a small kiddy pool as a swim area; it's hallow enough for the chickens to drink from too; I clean it on the average every 2 weeks so it doesn't become too foul.

My main Rooster "Goomer" accepts them as part of the flock; he clucks to them when he finds a choice morsel.

I am assuming (?) everyone will get along, so I'm wondering if the duck tub will be dangerous for the young hens? I know they eat differently, is it possible to feed everyone together? We have a larger pool for when we let the ducks into the yard to forage and swim, too.
