Re: [CHICKENS-101] real large eggs

 

Have you determined the breed of chicken those huge eggs came from?  My Brabanters lay the largest eggs I get and they are about the size of Polish, who lay a considerably smaller egg.  My largest chickens are the Russian Orloffs and their eggs are 2nd largest in size.  It's very interesting how each breed of chicken produces an egg specific in size and shape to that breed.

I don't know if I said about the extra large eggs I found. They where the size of geese eggs. There are nogeese here and thesewhere brown eggs. Well I used them this morning and both where double yolkers. thought I would share this.
