Four of the 14 eggs I had with broody hens have hatched. The chicks are up and about and appear to be quite healthy. The first one hatched on early Wednesday morning, 2 more hatched late Wednesday, and the fourth hatched Thursday morning. That's it.
I candled all the other eggs, and they all seem to have chicks in them, but I could detect no movement. How long should I wait before giving up on them? The hens have rolled 3 of the 10 out of the nest, which I assume means that they are not viable, but I put them in the incubator just in case.
Any information and/or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
