How to raise Backyard Chickens: Re: [CHICKENS-101] eggs or chicks 4 the broody

If she it eating and drinking OK, it is safe to give her the eggs to sit on. I guess I would try giving her the chicks first, since you bought them to give to her. If she doesn't accept the chicks, then try the eggs. You could probably keep the eggs for a week or so (depending on how old they were when you got them) to see if you get another broody. Keep them at around 50-60 degrees and turn them at least once a day, preferably twice.

dern it thought i had another broody hen. so came home with 6 eggs for her and chicks 4 the hen that has been sitting 4 last month. 2nd nest is empty. so asking can i give the eggs to the one that has been sitting. she is eating and drinking. or do i go with giving her the chicks and stuff the eggs in the incubator? or can i hold the eggs for awhile and see if i get another broody? sorry 4 all the questions! thx! renee
