[CHICKENS-101] Re: dern it, it is a preditor!

traps are pricey, but thinking that is best.

Hi,

Sorry for your loss. Integrated Pest Management is a way of controlling a pest or predator by using a variety of methods, usually the least harmful first. So, using a variety of control forms works best over the long term. All forms of pest/predator control are an investment. IMHO, it is worth it to buy a trap and keep it set (at least weekly) to protect your animals.

Traps or other controls can be compared to medications. Some people regularly medicate their animals.

On the other hand if you live close by I might be willing to loan a live trap to you. Maybe you can ask some locals or friends.

For those who have a shortage of feral cats, possums, raccoons, foxes or coyotes we have an adoption program. All of the squirrels, chipmunks, and ground amphibians are nowhere to be seen. Just too many predators.

Have a great season.
