[CHICKENS-101] Re: Novice Chicken mama

Back when we had 2dozen chicks under the sink our dog was really interested in them. About the size and shape of a dalmatian she would hang over their box and watch them for hours. Of course they got out, a mass escape. That's when we learned about covering the brooder with a screen. When we discovered it the chicks were all huddled around the dog. climbing on her paws, trying to get under her and in general having a grand time. We figured the chicks thought the dog was some kind of God. The dog must of thought they were hers, whatever they were. She never harmed them. Who would have thunk.

So needless to say the door remains closed on that room unless we are in there with her. She hasn't tried anything, but not trusting her right now.
