[CHICKENS-101] Bald spots

 

I have two girls that I just noticed a bald spot in the exact same spot on both of their backs.

I assume the other chickens are pulling out their feathers. I have been putting pine tar around the area and on the surrounding feathers, and it is gone by the end of the day. Do the others actually like the taste of pine tar? I thought it was to deter them from pecking each other.

I have posted pics under the file "Bald Spots" if you would like to see. If you know the breed of these girls, I would love to know also.
