Cath, she is a very broody hen. I think she hatched two batches that I left in there for them last summer. The first one she got tired of the whole thing and left to let Lacy finish up. Then she shared the taking care of duties. That was her first hatch at one year old. The second one she hatched and stayed with the chicks the whole time. This time she is very protective with the eggs. I checked today and no chicks yet. I have two in the bator that I took away from them and they have both hatched but I have one more egg in there and apparently it isn't as far along as the first two. I have another black chick with some white, so two from them, one yellow and one black.
