Good question, Eric! I should think that it's breed. After all, don't we usually get something that is a new breed in pairs or trios?

 

If it's not I'm in deep chickie doo because I have some new color and size variations coming and there are 3 pairs and a trio!

 

I also have a new roo coming that is a single but I already have 3 hens who need a romeo. So a single coming here is usually a roo!

 

All that being, I think if we made it singles, we'd only be able to get roos and that just won't work at all.
