It was more or less a joke, but before knowing the chickens were taking advantage of the warm air the OP might have been a fabric softener user. 

Fabric softners, either liquid or sheet form are dangerous to just about all animals.  I've never used them or any other 'freshening' substance.

Serious note, I can't imagine she would use dryer sheets with the birds drying them selves.  Even regular fabric softener could be a problem unless the unscented kind is used. Cath
