This post just pooped up. I know how you feel and how you will picture your little roo by the door turning circles... Two opossums killed my ancient red rooster in his own pen. Won't ever happen again.
I once beat an opossum to death with a rotten shovel handle in my pink jammies/nightie robe. That thing had its paw on my pen. I grabbed the only thing handy and didn't quit until it had no head that was discernible as a head. Then went after it with a shovel. by the way they do not cut up with a shovel, but I gave it a good try. Was totally freaked out on behalf of my silkies. Cathryn

hi Cathryn
thanks ,and yes i did get a young male i'm sure he was run away by the
mother. they have to leave early and it has been a harsh winter this year,
snow and frozen ground for a week at a time. I guess we were just bless
with one of your far north winters . Thanks again for your support .
ps I will not be caught again with my guard down,I know anytime there is
a weather front coming through you need to set the traps and button down
the pens.I had a wire that was worked loose by the hinge on the door.
