Re: [CHICKENS-101] switched feeds

Prices are about the same here in Georgia.  I would love to feed Hiland Natural but it is just too expensive.  Sometimes I get a 50# bag of there crumbles and mix it with the Southern States I buy at the feed store.  I have had good luck witlh Southern States. I like the Southern States mixed grain scratch also. The chickens also get left overs and occasional treats.   Susan

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] switched feeds

I switched feeds to ADM's Pen Pals.  Kent is out of control on pricing here.  Thankfully I found a Pen Pals dealer not too far. The feed comes straight from the Michigan Factory to the dealer to me.  I order how much I want, they pick it up, and I pick it up from them.  The feed isn't even a week old when I get it.  I'm mixing my custom feed with Pen Pals.  Thought I'd pass the info along about Pen Pals for those who are being crunched by high feed prices.  How much is feed in other parts of the country?  It's 11.38 for 50lbs of 16% Pen Pals laying crumbles. Kent is 12.75 and higher depending on where you buy it. Cathryn
