Re: [CHICKENS-101] Sumatra Crow

I don't know about Sumatras, but when any of my LF cockerels start crowing, it sounds like someone dragging a fake, metal Christmas tree through a hole in a piece of sheet metal :-)

Subject: [CHICKENS-101] Sumatra Crow

I guess this question is for anyone who raises or has raised Sumatras. My dad & grandpa raised them but I don't remember their crows. I have two young Sumatras I hope are a pair. One sings all the time a pretty sweet little tune so I named her Matilda. Her hopeful mate is Banjo. Banjo is larger & never makes a noise so yesterday when he let out this peacock type sound I nearly went thru the roof & I'm not typically jumpy. Is that a Sumatra crow? I kind of hope so as that would mean it is a roo. If so I can get use to the sound. I couldn't find a recording of a Sumatra crow online anywhere.
Please advise,
Marla
