[CHICKENS-101] Re: Temp in coop

 

Hi Val, If you think the temperature is going to go below 10 deg for more than a couple hours you should consider heat. A 20w bulb ain't going to cut it. Think 250w heat lamp, usually red. In Va. unless you are in a cold spot I don't think you need to worry that much. Don't give up the 20w light though, they need it if you are collecting eggs. Chickens are pretty tough.
Now that you don't need to worry, What kind of chickens and how many.
