Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: BARF.........including chicken!

Depends on the dog how much work you have to do.  One of my dogs I can just kill chicken and hand to dog, the other dog I have to cut open the chicken but not pluck it, he eats it from the inside out and leaves what he doesn't want.  I feed my dogs outside so mess doesn't really matter.  During the winter I feed in a crate and I switch to more of a Franken-prey type model or use plucked/cleaned chickens.  Takes my dogs about 2-4 days to eat a chicken.

Around me I can get Cornish X chicks for $2.00 I think at TSC but only in May/April.

Hope that helps!

so if you were to only feed the chicken to the dog, how much processing
would that require, I am assuming they would still have to be plucked, but
after that, just cut the head off and take out the gall bladder? How much
do those meat birds cost as baby chicks?
