I would talk to the mill owner or manager and ask what they put in their feed and where it comes from. Tell him your concerns about feed quality and let him "sell" you on why you should buy his instead. You can, or should be able to, read the list of ingredients in the feed. And you can talk to some of his customers and see what they think. I trust the small local mill in the small town near where I live far more than I trust the large feed companies.

We have gone to a grain mill (it's about 100 miles so we don't go often) and buy several months worth, and we have also bought commercial from our local feed store. How will/do I know the food from the mill is OK?
