I've always mixed a bit of unsweetened yogurt with my chicks and chicken's food for a treat that they clean up in a few minutes.  No sick birds to date from it. Cath

Cath, I heard that you should not give yogurt to chickens because it can cause

diarrha, etc.  I have given mine yogurt and they love the treat and show no bad
effects.  Have you heard this?  Susan
