Re: [CHICKENS-101] silkie serama

Gina, Thank you , my heart is in normal sinus rhythm, it went into normal while I was in the procedure. Its not a hard on a person procedure, but it does leave one beyond exhausted for awhile, That is wonderful you may have a silkie serama.  I was reading the history of seramas and was quite amazed to learn about how many breeds they have been bred too and that they are a new breed.  The type and wide chests reminds of Japanese bantams. I have a cockerel from Jack Payne that carries the gene.  I need to get him with my girls and hatch their eggs.  Then they have to be breed back to their clutch mates once to get the silkie gene to express itself.  I feel bad, I left a container full of serama eggs on the counter for Marci, never got them off to her.  I am too tired to do anything right now but think about what I am going to do when with my chickens.  Cath

Cath, that is such wonderful news! I am so happy that all went well and the prognosis is great!!

Just to cheer you up a bit, I think one of my Serama chicks is silky feathered!!! Now I have the best of both worlds. Of course I have to let it grow up a bit more before I can say for sure.
Rest, take care and we all hope to see your spunky self back here as soon as you can.
Gina :-)
