Mike, You do not need an incubator with two large broodies.  You have them, free. Let them keep the egg and sit in it. Cath



Oh no! I didn't do it! Someone told me that and it may be some kind of perverted Oklahoman initiation right. I think my Cayenne peppers are to hot, I'd get them from the store if it's true.


We have 2 chickens guarding one egg. Mrs Crypt went for the egg and they successfully fought her off. I went and they both bit my fingers so I shooed them out with a tomato stake. When I got a hold of the egg, one of them came back in and bit me in the forearm, then the other one got a hold of my pinky. They are darned lucky my homemade spaghetti sauce is almost done or I'd feel like chicken tonight.

Crypt, I think you just experienced the results of feeding cayenne pepper to your chickens.   If you fed me cayenne pepper I'd rip your arm off too.  Work gloves, they are a GOOD thing.
