Re: [CHICKENS-101] Yikes, just barely got my young chicks under cover ahead of the rain!

I can't chance that I will wake up if I take a nap, (that includes falling asleep sitting up) I have to have shelter for chicks outside.  Cath

I had already gone out to move them in, but got distracted looking at the ferret cages.  I wouldn't have not known when it started to rain.  : )

much as you would, you would feel horrible for a very long time.  I always put my chicks under shelter and/or have beach umbrellas available to use.   Or have cockerels who would stay out with them and shelter them under their wings until you got there.  My old jumbo ringneck IttyBitty would baby sit my chicks too.  PeeWee his hen would let them snuggle but did not go to them to take care of them like Itty Bitty did.  My pheasants slowly died of old age.
