How to raise Backyard Chickens: Re: [CHICKENS-101] If you were going to get a chicken for eggs

Polish. Polish are friendly chickens who enjoy a nice lap to sit on, and are good conversationalists. They come in good colors, wear 'hats' on their heads, and are great at producing eggs.

If you read the descriptions of chickens and it says "Avoids human contact", don't get them. That means they will fly into the fence and try to break their own necks rather than have you get within 20 feet of them.

I want a few more chickens and I know it all depends,

On if I eat the meat or let them shoot eggs out the ends.
I know the colors can vary, from the dark and to the light,
Reminds me of 1814, on that fabulous star spangled night.
I have heard that some are heat tolerant and some do like the cold,
Some are outright cowardly and some are extremely bold.
So forget the hens on paydays, us guys would like to pick
Let me know whats your favorite, your favorite type of chick.
