Re: [CHICKENS-101] Chicken addiction is real

Hi
That sounds like my story last year except for the turkeys I have not had them yet.I also ordered 25 cornish cross meat birds. Alone with 25 barred rock pullets and I also work at a school and the 1st grades hatch out chicks every year so I got another 30 from them. There were 15 roos in that bunch after I saw they were to hard on my girls they ended up in the freezer. NO BODY messes with my girls :)  The 25 meat birds were great we ate our chicken all winter and I canned a bunch.
This year I have ordered 50 meat birds and 25 pullets and I will get all the birds from the school again.   I have two coops right now and tomorrow I am starting a third coop. OH yea I am also getting 30 lavender  Guinea hens. I am not sure what I am going to do with those. I will try to free range those so they can eat the ticks. I sell the eggs to teachers at school I cant supply enough to keep them happy I have a waiting list. I get $3.00 a dozen. The girls are paying for them selves. I also have enough money from them to mostly pay for my new chicks this year.
I think I will never be with out chickens again. And as far as vacation I like just staying home and doing chors.
