Thanks, Heather, we adore Chickie, our Polish hen. She is the sweetest chicken! I'm looking forward to the arrival of 15 more Polish next month. I'm getting 5 each, Black crested White, WC Blue, and Gold Laced. Ideal only sells Polish as straight run, so I won't know what I'm getting.
Chickie seems to stick her entire head in the water. She will have a wet 'Foo-Foo' after drinking. And one day last week she was sopping wet after a rain. I guess she didn't bother going in under cover. I took her in the house to dry because I was worried bout her being so very wet. It was nice to have her back in the house, singing.

georgia, i have polish and they are wonderful. they tend to catch colds and all very easily and they are very tempermental when it comes to the weather. i bought 6 chicks a few weeks ago at our tractor supply and we saw what the polish arede also known as top hats and i bought some and we are very pleased to have gotten 2 white crested black polish bantams. they are very sweet. my ruby who is just now about 10 months old stays in the house. we show her and we have a golden laced young roo and if he didnt peck ruby til she bled i would try to breed her with him to see what we the chicks would be. also does anyone think her not laying yet is a problem? i mean she is 10 months and my other started laying at that age but died after laying 3 eggs and then stopping. it was a snake that killed her i think. i have 10 total and we are about to start with duck eggs for a homeschool project that we are going to try. i hope we get at least 2 out of 6 that would be great. im hoping i can find a duck book. sorry about going on and on i just cant sleep lately. thanks heather ------------ ------------------------
