[CHICKENS-101] Which hatchery and news about my silkies gender!

 

Just FYI, my order from McM had chicks available this week.  Turkeys not til later in the month. (I think they hold off – maybe turkeys are more sensitive to cold?)

M Mcm is in Iowa…….far from me, but Ideal is in Tx…..STILL far from me…….so, I stayed with McM since I have used them twice before.  I also got an order from MyPetChicken but very expensive………shipping was outrageous……..like $68…….but I have to say the ten chicks arrived happy and healthy. 

The extra shipping might be overnight……..McM only offers one shipping rate….express……but not overnight.

 

Got to get ready for those chickies.

 

Oh………..Catherine……………..the red pullet is not a pullet.  It crowed at me this morning!!  Weird because it doesn’t have a pronounced comb like the other roos do.  We have confirmed three roosers and four pullets. (but no guarantees……..no professional sexing done here!)
