Pete that is really neat!  Do you can sanitize the water in your rain tank?   I'm not sure about creek water, but rainwater shouldn't have too many critters in it if is kept sanitized, or no need too?  Don't know much about it except 1 tablespoon of oxine disinfects 150 gallons of drinking water. You have a great set up. Cathryn

No we are on the county water district .... but we have a 1000 gallon tank that fills with rain water and we  supplement from the creek if needed .... it is then used via a gravity feed if the water district looses power.  This has only happened twice in 8 years as they also have backup power.  If our back up system is full we can then use it for watering critters or garden.
