Sorry, I guess I wasn't clear. The dogs and cats I saw with rodent poisoning didn't get it from eating the bait itself, but from eating the poisoned rodents. They are often slow and easy to catch as the poison takes effect. Many pets don't actually eat what they catch, but for those that do, it's then that the problems occur.
