Re: [CHICKENS-101] OT chip barms and blue pop lol

OMGoodness, that earthquake thing is a riot.  Are you an American ExPat or one from another country?

We have our own 'blue pop' feeding people over here.  I was a Food Demo for Sam's Club until last Sunday and would have to distribute things with heavy amounts of red dye #40 and aspertame.  I'd tell the parents this and they'd look at me blankly while handing the item to their toddlers.

They walk among us...............

a chip barm - I took a few years to adjust to this - is basically a bread roll with what you lovely lot would call fries. Big fat greasy ones, lots of salt and vinegar. Lots of calories, no nutrition.

Blue pop is what the truly unenlightened feed their kids - the worryingly cheap azure blue 'fruit' flavoured fizzy drink that sends kids doolally.

We had a minor series of earthquakes around here a few years back and woohoo was it a big deal.
There was a spoof appeal for all the scallies (rednecks). It featured a request for donations to supply them with chip barms, blue pop and new tracksuits.

I've copied in the website for this which will give you all some idea of the regional variations possible in such a tiny place as ours...makes me laugh a lot.
