How to raise Backyard Chickens: Re: [CHICKENS-101] Cackle Hatchery

This is where I get my chicks. My feed store orders them for me and I always get extra. I think last year I got 5 extra all were in great shape and all lived. This year I am getting the hungry mans special 50 cornish jumbo X and 25 of there choice brown egg pullets. I am also getting 30 lavender guinies. My first time with them so I might be asking questions about them.

I just got Cackle Hatchery's catalog in the mail today and was very pleased to see their breeds (both ducks and chickens) illustrated with photographs, not drawings. I can get a much better idea of how a breed looks from a photograph than I can a drawing.

I've heard good things about Cackle Hatchery, but have never personally ordered from them, so this isn't a recommendation - just a heads up about the photographs.
