I have a little silkie that was attacked by a dog. We did not notice that the beak was damaged, as he was just roughrd up, so we thought no damage done. Yesterday we picked him up to find most of his top beak missing. Willl he be ok like this?
Just curious, but how blue is blue? Mine lays a green-blue.

I had them and my problem was they were too prolific. They liked to peck silkies on the head, and hatched too many tufted, rumpless chicks. I sold them all because I didn't have room for them all. This was back before putrina killed my chickens and I had way more silkies than I do now. Mine laid vivid blue eggs, no doubt that they were sky blue. Dave's eggs are sky blue too except for the one hen. He may have culled her by now. I hope not.

Only mere feet from my chicken house. Not a huge bodied dude, but big enough tusks. Jake is cut, but nothing that will require stiches, just a little bloody. So itâs appearing they are starting to loose fear of us (cause I was out there not 10 minutes before giving the chickens some scraps), and coming out whenever they are wanting to. And my little stud Cisco and one of my mares was also turned out in the orchard, they never even raised their heads at even the shooting. lol Iâm just hoping that this was the fence killer and we wonât have to keep patching on it after this.

Rest and enjoy doing nothing .... you have been through a lot lately and deserve these leisure moments :-) Hope your new hire works out and helps rather then hinders.
