I'm asking again, what is the best way to worm chickens used for meat and for eggs? What is the time frame between worming and slaughter/eating eggs?

I have horses which always have a parasite load. we put in place a program of worming is set up on a schedule with a rotation of different worming medications.

My understanding is that diatomaceous earth dehydrates insects to kill them. That is not going to happen in the gut, so I can't imagine it will work.

I want an anthhelminic that is proven effective and safe in chickens and their eggs that end up on the dinner table.

Garlic, capsicum and diatomaceous earth are not proven nor effective enough for me to use.

[CHICKENS-101] will they....?

Will my two flocks ever get along?
We have 10 Production Reds that we got the first part of April. The first part of June we got 20 chicks (differing varieties) from a hatchery. Moving day went well. Everyone has been together for nearly a week now. The Reds are still showing the chicks who is boss! I know it is early yet, and the little ones are still growing up, but is there hope for the future that these two flocks will be freinds? I want so very much to pick up and play with the little ones, but the Reds just won't let me!! As soon as I bend down, a Red will come up to me and scare off the chicks!!

Re: [CHICKENS-101] Re: Unusual Livestock Guardians

We built huge 8ft tall pens for ours, and they had a quarter of the main barn.  H didn't want to help pooper scoop so I permanently loaned them to a group home.

A friend of mine from another county, has a peacock that is beautiful,
and dumber than a box of rocks. He sees his reflection in a car bumper
and challenges himself to a fight. I got a big kick out of that and him
screaming "HALP." Maybe when we get a bigger piece of land, I would
love to have one of those beauties. I think white peacocks are
gorgeous, too.

[CHICKENS-101] Spring time

Hi all .We are about a month off spring and I cannot wait until I can order some fertile bantam eggs for my hens. I will use an incubator if I have too.I used to hatch chicks every year at Kinder with the children. I hatched the Isa brown chicks and I would either have a lot hatch or not one hatch. It was never long before they were out of their box and scratching the carpet looking for food!I am hoping to have a broody by then to put the eggs under. This is becoming a serious problem.Any tips about fertile eggs are welcome. Lol! Jennie
